The Story Behind the Edit

Why I Started Emily's Edit 

I’ve always loved putting an outfit together.

When I was younger, I would draw out my outfits for the week before school. As I got older, that turned into dance costumes, festival looks, Disney outfits, really, any excuse to dress around a theme. I would spend hours putting together a look, every piece chosen with intention, and my favorite part was always in the details.

The jewelry. The shoes. But especially, the bag.

I loved figuring out how all the little details could come together and make an outfit feel cohesive and unique.

Over time, that love evolved into designer handbags. I’ve been collecting for almost a decade, with a particular love for Louis Vuitton. What started as collecting has turned into studying the history, craftsmanship and details behind the pieces I love. So much so, that I’m currently working toward professional certification in Louis Vuitton authentication.

There’s something about a gorgeous designer bag that still gets me every time. The quality. The craftsmanship. The history. And especially the way the right bag can bring an otherwise simple outfit completely to life.

But I’ve never been interested in owning something just because of the name on it. I've always been drawn to the pieces that spark joy and excitement. An unexpected colorway. A discontinued silhouette. An absolute icon of a classic. A tiny detail you don't see very often. The bag that makes you stop and ask, “Wait, what is that?”

That feeling is really what became Emily’s Edit.

I also wanted to create the kind of place I would want to shop.

As much as I love the hunt, finding great pre-loved designer pieces can mean hours of endless scrolling, comparing condition, questioning authenticity, and trying to figure out which pieces are actually worth buying. I know not everyone wants to do that — so I wanted to create a place where that part has already been done for you.

A smaller, thoughtfully curated selection of authentic designer pieces in beautiful, wearable condition — without the endless scrolling and second-guessing.

I do the hunting so you don’t have to.

I source the same way I collect: if a piece doesn’t spark something in me, it doesn’t make the Edit. I want every bag here to feel special enough that I’d genuinely be tempted to keep it myself.

And when I can’t keep them all?

Someone else needs to enjoy them.
